Matte plexiglass meets vibrant gradients. Static form encounters a lively core. Poppy Fetzner's artworks narrate the story of polarity and unity simultaneously. Recurring motif is the luminous gradient, drawing the observer magnetically toward its core and ultimately merging with it.
“Life is inherently characterized by polarities, a concept I grappled with. I once saw the world in black and white, struggling with decisions and feeling stuck. It took me a while to understand: polarities exist in harmony, one complements the other, creating vitality and unity. I am both, and everything is interconnected - a liberating realization that unleashed my creativity. Life isn't about perfection or knowing the right path - it's about embracing experiences, emotions, and freedom."
"This concept is embodied by the circle, a round and gentle form representing eternal, timeless cycles. Its also the creative process which exudes a soothing quallity as it harmonizes tensions and polarities, leaving me with a profound sense of completeness. The satined plexiglass i use embodies delicacy and opacity, akin to a protective skin. Not all that occupies the mind is immediately discernible. From a distance, all seems blurry; however, as you draw nearer to the artwork, immersing yourself in the relationship, the hidden facets gradually reveal themselves."
With her art she makes a part of her inner self reality and creates a dialogue between reality and imagination. The complexity of polarity becomes palpable inviting the recipient to enter this realm and experience unity.
